Re: How to make a chimineya??? (clay outdoor fireplace)
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 6:33 PMHow big a chimney do want?
diynetwork.com has some good stuff.
a google search on masonry and ceramic chimneys yields a lot of results.
You might also want to talk to people who make fireplaces or chimney sweeps and general contractors. If they don't know the technical specs themselves they will know someone who does.

Re: How to make a chimineya??? (clay outdoor fireplace)
Tue, November 6, 2007 - 9:24 PMthe clay will have to be one that can take a fire, so it will have to be higher fire, but it will need lots of grog/sand in the body of the clay, to accomodate rapid expansion and contraction from fire and external elements. reasearching the composition of cone 15 firebrick might lead to your answer.
